Nigeria welcomes new Resident Representative

On 25 August 2023, Lennart Oestergaard officially resumed in Abuja, Nigeria, as the new Resident Representative of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) in Nigeria.

Lennart Oestergaard is a political scientist born in Hamburg, Germany. He holds a master’s degree in International Affairs from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin and a bachelor’s in communications from Munster and New Jersey. Before joining FES Nigeria as the Resident Representative, he worked as a Desk Officer in the Africa Department of FES in Berlin and as a policy advisor to a Member of the German Parliament from the SPD in the Foreign and Development Policy realm. He has lived in Tanzania and Kenya, has travelled to many African countries and is now very happy to call Nigeria his new home.

Comrade Lennart replaces Dr. Daniel Mann, who has been redeployed to Latin America. Dr. Daniel Mann became the Resident Representative in 2020 and completed his tour of duty in August 2023.
